Waco

One of the plus sides of leaving for the summer is getting to explore wherever you end up. We've been in Chicago, Houston, and Tyler. Luckily Tyler is fairly close to Dallas and Waco so we get to venture out to those cute places too.

So we trekked out to Waco to see a couple of things: Magnolia Market, and the BSR Cable Park.

 I absolutely love the show Fixer Upper, with Joanna and Chip Gaines. They are founded in Waco Texas! The show makes Waco look beautiful, so I was pretty excited to see it!

 It is such a cute and quaint store and of course perfectly renovated.

 I love these flower planters, with the simple,fresh, inspiring, unexpected windows.

 

The next stop was the BSR cable park. Even though I really wanted to take advantage of the cable park  we actually went to ride the Royal Flush.

 As you can see, it is one giant slide and literally launches you. You'd think the lighter you weigh the farther you will go, but it is actually opposite the more you weigh the farther it launched you.

 Shane was brave and did some flips off…

…me..not so much. ha!

About 30 minutes into the drive I realized I forgot my camera! I was so bummed! You really do lose part of your brain when you have a kid. Ha! Waco treated us so well we might just head back there one more weekend. 

Brookeshire's Museum

Yesterday we went to the Brookshire's Museum before Shane had to go to work.

It was cool, weird, fun, odd and who knows what else.

But it took up some time and thats golden in a small town with not much to do. ;)

 We usually have Ivy in an actual chair in the stroller but she fell asleep on the way over. Luckily, she woke up about 5 minutes in…

As you can tell it was…different.. not to mention it was actually fairly dark in there and all the lights were yellowish. (So bare with me on these pictures)

 Ivy was not so sure of those crazy animals.

 She was so worried. Ha!

 She's so interested in standing and walking like this recently.

 After the creepy animals there was an old "store" you walked through. You couldn't buy anything and the produce was all fake. They told us it was a replica of what a grocery store looked like back in 1930.

She really enjoyed hanging on to those boxes. Just the right height for her!

 Outside, they had a playground and this cute vintage firetruck.

Her head bow is from Shop Three Bees. They have the cutest bows, bracelets and banners.

 We put Ivy in the swing for the first time…

 She really did love it even though it doesn't look like it. haha!

The company Shane works for sees Wednesday's as "family day." (Basically, there is no meeting before work and you spend the morning making memories with your family.) So we always try to get out and about on Wednesdays even though there isn't much to do in Tyler.

Little Fish

Since it's extremely hot and humid here in Texas we find ourselves at the pool more often then not. Thank goodness Ivy loves the pool as much as we do.

Before Ivy was born we always wondered if she'll have dark hair or light… I think its safe to say she's going to be a toe head. ;)

 I had to document those chubby cheeks of hers. She has gained a few pounds recently. Ha!

 She sure loves that dad of hers…and so do I.

 It is extremely hard for me to stop myself from buying Ivy swimming suits. They are so cute on her little body!

 We love when friends join us…

 The pool here is salt water and Ivy will suck on my shoulder for hours.

 There is 3 little fountains and she loves to go under them and get all wet.

Ivy would splash in the pool all day if I let her. I've been helping her float on her back and she is so darn funny. She holds on to me tight, closes her eyes and pants while floating. It's the funniest thing. We're glad she likes the pool so we can survive the heat!

Berry Pickin

Last weekend my parents came to visit so we filled our weekend with fun things to do! While they were here we tried a couple of new places to eat. One of which everything we ordered was so darn spicy.

 My Mom said "maybe if we just cook our meals extremely spicy we'll only eat a little and lose weight!" haha! If only! 

There was a Parade of homes that was going on so we went through a couple and they were beautiful. Wish I would of taken some pictures!

On Saturday, We headed to Echo Springs farm and picked blue berries and black berries. 

Sadly, Ivy couldn't come pick with us because they recently changed some laws here in Texas anyone under 2 couldn't pick due to the recent Blue Bell farm incidents. 

So my Mom stayed behind and played with her…

While we did some black berry picking..

I really love the relationship these two have. They get a long so darn well.

 I honestly normally don't love blackberries, but I couldn't resist eating them right off the bush!

Mmmmh! Those look delicious!

 I stayed behind with Ivy while they picked some blue berries.

They had a cute little store filled with home made jams, ice creams, and pies. Everything looked delicious.

While we were in the store Shane asked a worker if they give tours of the facility after they pick the berries. They normally don't but some how the farmer caught wind and gave us an exclusive tour! Lucky us! I didn't get any pictures but man it was cool. 

May Recap

Arizona had awesome weather the first part of May so we enjoyed it as much as we could. 

These two minis always have fun with each other. I love to see them grab each others faces and roll into each other.

My brothers family got another dog, a Yorkie named Doby. (from Harry Potter) He is so cute and tiny!

I don't even think Ivy knew it was a dog it was so little. I'm pretty sure she thought it was a stuffed animal. ha!

I swear Ivy went through a huge growth spurt last month because she did lots of this. (that girl loves her binkies)

One of my best friends got married. Kaley and Ryan's love was so refreshing. They both had those googly eyes for each other, I loved every minute of it.

She was really the prettiest bride. She is glowing in this picture.

After Kaley's wedding I headed to Texas to meet up with Shane. We're in Tyler for the summer for Shane's work and boy is it different than Arizona!

We thought a picnic would be fun but we ended up sweating bullets. I swear Ivy's face is saying "What are we doing out here Mom?"

It rained every day for a week and a half so we did lots of cuddling.

 Shane and some friends went to play soccer but it ended up down pouring on us.

That girl loves to watch her Dad.

Since the rain stayed for a while we found a new place for her to play…

This way she won't get into anything. ha!

 She's looking way too old…

 And acting way too old…

 So we tried time out for the first time… (We are totally kidding)

But we have been spending a lot of time at the pool. And let me tell you, We've got a little fish on our hands.

We are finally settling in here in Texas. We love exploring but we are glad its just temporary. For now we are just trying to get used to this darn humidity and welcoming June with open arms.
